Lately...

Many of you have asked for an update about Copper's toenail after she split it the other week and had to be put under to have it cut back.  OK, actually, none of you (all nine of you) have asked for an update but Copper's feelings aren't hurt, the whole thing was just a small blip on her radar.

Day one post surgery things were pretty much back to normal, hanging out in the backyard with her latest favorite toy, the "ultra-durable" rubber rings.

Day two post surgery Copper took things into her own hands and decided her "cast" (see back left foot in picture above) did not need to stay on anymore.  Hence the spectacle I came home to after work that week:

I know the picture above looks like she might be in pain and regretting her decision, but I can assure you that was not the case.  I think I just caught her mid-yawn.  Notice the scraps of bandage still clinging to her leg.

I knew things were truly back to normal when I saw the state of the rubber rings after Copper had been mysteriously absent (and therefore quiet) for an unreasonable amount of time one night:

And Copper certainly didn't slow down this afternoon.  Her friend Nola came over and Copper thought it would be a good idea to try out the whole leash walking thing for herself, but from a different perspective.  The first time she took Nola on a walk was in the backyard (she also simultaneously had EEH's shoe in her mouth) and we were all laughing so hard there was no time to grab a camera.  We wanted to see if we could get a picture of it so the leash went back on Nola and immediately Copper picked it up and started dragging her away, priceless!
